Time travel makes your head hurt

That's about it, just a general observation.

Sitting in Sainsbury's waiting for lunch trying to work out last nights Stargate (last two episodes series 8) Where the team go back to ancient Egypt using a recently found Ancient time travel device (that's Ancient with a capital 'A' not small 'a') and excitingly mess up

Using the 'trouser leg of time' theory we had three Jack O Neils, ditto Sam Carters and Teal'cs but only two Daniel Jacksons (one having been shot by one of the Teal'cs for having a go'uld in his head).

Did we end up with the 'right' ones? I figured in the end we did, even if not quite the ones we started with.

But like I said it made my head hurt.. These writer Johnnys must be very clever, or take a lot of Ibuprofen..

  1. The previous was not a proper comment...I was just experimenting to see if I could add a comment, and I could!! Just wanted to say that I like the blog layout so much. Very fiftyish. There's a name for what it looks like, but since I remember the fifties very well, my memory fails me sometimes. Anyway, I am glad to see you blogging again. Now if only Dolly would get inspired....

  2. If I remember right, that episode would be Mobius? Yeah, it's a bit of stretch, but I enjoyed in anyway. I especially liked "geekey" Carter. You are right though - the time travel episodes always leave many questions. I've gotten to the point I don't even try to figure it all out anymore.

  3. What'd ya have for lunch??? :)

Oh! and by the way, I have a question.

How come I can't comment, unless I'm on my blog??? (yes - I probably am that daft). But I've noticed others saying they can't comment either. (so maybe I'm not all that daft???)

  4. Ha! got it, if you are using Firefox (Like I have just started doing as Chrome was doing my head in) you need to enable 'third party cookies' in options.
Bet this opens one horrible can of worms...

  6. Actually, re the comments, the other night when I tried to comment I got to the squiggly-writing bit and there was no squiggly-writing so I couldn't comment, perhaps this is what happened to Kate? Anyway, I hit back and copied what I'd written in the comment box, refreshed the screen and repasted etc. and it all went through fine. I use firefox and didn't need to refangle the cookies. Just in case it's useful for someone, :)

  8. OK - I logged out of my blog and just used firefox. I checked the cookies and they already were enabled. I came over here and tried every which way to leave a comment (without being on Wordpress). No luck.

It has me choose a profile. (google acct, live journal, wordpress, typepad, aim, or open ID) None of them will let me do anything without being on Wordpress. (My other option is to have my google acct open, if I wasn't on Wordpress).

  11. If you have a google mail account and if you have checked the "remember me" box when you log in to your google account, this type of commenter thing will let you post a comment with your google identity without having to have your mail account open. The WordPress thing seems to operate similarly.
